EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM

LEADING CHANGE

Behavioural design and neuroscientific practices in leadership

PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION

The pace of change in today’s business environment requires leaders to be adaptive, innovative, and forward-thinking. In this executive education program, participants will develop the skills necessary to lead change effectively. The program will focus on two critical areas: behavioural design and neuroscientific practices.

Behavioural design is an emerging field that applies behavioural science principles to design more effective and efficient systems, processes, and experiences. Neuroscientific practices, on the other hand, use the latest findings from neuroscience to improve decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. Over the course of this program, participants will explore the intersection of these two fields and learn how to apply them in the context of leadership. Through a series of interactive sessions, case studies, and exercises, participants will develop a deep understanding of how behavioural design and neuroscientific practices can be used to drive change and create impact within their organisations.

This program offers a unique opportunity for leaders to learn how to apply cutting-edge behavioural science and neuroscience principles to drive change and create impact within their organisations. By combining the latest research and case studies with practical exercises and personal action planning, participants will develop the skills necessary to lead change effectively and create a culture of innovation and collaboration within their organisations.

THE EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE-BASED APPROACH

Hands-on, practical experience. GILT programs are designed to encourage active engagement in the subject matter. This includes a variety of activities such as experiments, design sprints, observations, reflections, interactive workshops, and prototyping to name a few.

SKILL-BASED FOCUS

The Positive Progress Education Model, developed by GILT, forms the backbone of all GILT programs. Next to the actual content, GILT programs always focus on the development of leadership and technology skills and encourage bold, unconventional thinking.

WORLD-CLASS FACULTY

Practitioners, management and leadership thinkers, artists, and philosophers. GILT programs are taught by leading industry experts, renowned academics, proven entrepreneurs, and exceptional thinkers. GILTs hand-picked global faculty will not only share their direct and practical knowledge but also provide personal insights and experiences from their various fields of work.

ACTIONABLE KNOWLEDGE

Designed to take action and get things done. Discuss and debate the most pressing challenges and co-create solutions with a selected group of peers. GILT programs focus on practical application and are designed to explore fresh ideas and develop new solutions.

CONNECTING A COMMUNITY

GILT has been training executives and individuals from all walks of life in over a hundred countries. GILT programs are designed to connect participants within the program and offer exposure to the broader community and ecosystem of global change makers.

CASE STUDIES

Each week, guest lecturers share current case studies of cutting-edge projects. GILT programs are enriched with case studies on emerging technologies such as blockchain and quantum, social and impact initiatives, and new business models—hands-on from leaders to leaders.

PROGRAM CURRICULUM

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

The Change Management module provides an overview of the models, approaches, and dimensions of change management. The module aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the complexities of change in modern organisations. Overall, this module provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of change management models, patterns, dimensions, and the importance of human behaviour in achieving successful change outcomes.

Unit 1 – Change management and human behaviour

In this unit, participants will focus on the role of human behaviour in change management and how to manage resistance to change, support individuals through the change process, and create a culture of change readiness.

Unit  2 – Change management models: Traditional vs. modern approaches

In this unit, participants will learn about traditional and modern change management models and approaches, and how these can be applied in different organisational contexts.

Unit 3 – Understanding patterns of change

In this unit, participants participants will explore the patterns of change that commonly occur within organisations, and how these patterns can be recognized and addressed through effective change management.

Unit 4 – Dimensions and cognitive patterns of change

In this unit, participants will examine the different dimensions of change, including the technical, cultural, and emotional dimensions, and learn how to manage these dimensions to achieve successful change outcomes. Participants will explore the cognitive patterns of change and how to manage them to achieve positive change outcomes.

SHAPING ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURES

The Shaping Organisational Structures module provides participants with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of designing for human behaviour change. The module aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to create products, services, and experiences that effectively influence human behaviour. Overall, this module provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of behavioural design.

Unit 5  – Organisational stress in complex environments

In this unit, participants will focus on organisational stress in complex environments and how to manage stress levels during times of change.

Unit 6 – Understanding cultural habits

In this unit, participants will learn about cultural habits and how they influence behaviour. This includes an understanding of the importance of cultural context in design and how to create solutions that work within a specific cultural context.

In this unit, participants will explore the cognitive biases that influence human behaviour and decision-making. Participants will learn how to recognize these biases and how to use them to design for behaviour change. This unit also focuses on mental models and how they impact behaviour. Participants will learn how to identify mental models and how to design for behaviour change by creating new mental models.

Unit 8 – A practical guide to designing behaviour
