This program is designed to equip executives with the knowledge and skills needed to lead their organisations through disruptive changes in their industries. Drawing on the best practices from the startup world and entrepreneurial thinking, this program will challenge participants to rethink their business models and identify new growth opportunities.

Participants will learn about the key drivers of business model innovation, including customer-centricity, value proposition design, and agile methodologies. They will gain insights into how startups leverage these drivers to rapidly iterate on their business models and create new value for their customers.

Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will develop a deep understanding of the strategies and tactics that are essential for successful business model innovation. Additionally, participants will learn how to apply these strategies and tactics within their own organisations, by exploring real-world case studies and engaging in group discussions and exercises.

By the end of the program, participants will have developed a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers of business model innovation. Participants will have a clear roadmap for applying these concepts to their own organisations, and will be ready to take action.

Introduction to Business Model Innovation

Unit 1 – Understanding the importance of business model innovation in today’s rapidly changing business environment

Participants will learn why traditional business models are no longer sufficient in today’s disruptive business environment and will understand the need for continuous innovation in order to remain competitive.

 

Unit 2 – Introduction to key drivers of business model innovation, including customer-centricity and value proposition design

Participants will gain an understanding of the key drivers of business model innovation, such as putting the customer at the centre of the business model and designing value propositions that meet customer needs.

 

Unit 3 – Case studies of successful business model innovations in various industries

Participants will analyse real-world examples of successful business model innovations across different industries and will understand the factors that contributed to their success.

Customer-Centricity and Value Proposition Design

Unit 4 – Defining customer segments and understanding their needs, behaviours, and pain points 

Participants will learn how to identify and define different customer segments and how to understand their needs, behaviours, and pain points in order to design effective value propositions.

Unit 5 – Developing and testing hypotheses around customer value propositions

Participants will learn how to develop and test hypotheses around different value propositions and will understand how to use data and feedback to refine their hypotheses.

Unit 6 – Applying design thinking principles to develop innovative customer value propositions 

Participants will learn how to apply design thinking principles to develop innovative customer value propositions that meet the needs of different customer segments.

Agile Methodologies and Rapid Iteration

Unit 7 – Introduction to agile methodologies and how they can be applied to business model innovation 

Participants will learn the principles of agile methodologies and how they can be applied to business model innovation to create and test MVPs (minimum viable products).

Unit 8 – Creating and testing minimum viable products (MVPs)

Participants will learn how to create and test MVPs that validate their hypotheses around customer value propositions and will understand how to use data and feedback to iterate and improve their MVPs.

Unit 9 – Rapidly iterating on MVPs to improve product-market fit

Participants will learn how to rapidly iterate on their MVPs in order to improve product-market fit and will understand how to pivot when necessary.

Scaling and Implementation

Unit 10: Strategies for scaling successful business model innovations

Participants will learn different strategies for scaling successful business model innovations, such as identifying new markets and partnerships, and will understand the challenges and opportunities that come with scaling.

Unit 11 – Identifying and overcoming obstacles to implementation 

Participants will learn how to identify and overcome obstacles to implementing business model innovations within their organisations, such as resistance to change and lack of resources.

Unit 12 – Building the right team and organisational culture to support business model innovation

Participants will understand the importance of building the right team and organisational culture to support business model innovation and will learn how to foster a culture of innovation within their organisations.
